The practical answer is not just replacing tyres when they fail. It is spotting the warning signs early and making tyre checks part of every vehicle’s routine.

Low tyre pressure and slow leaks

Low pressure is one of the most common reasons heavy vehicle tyres overheat and fail. When a tyre runs soft, its sidewalls flex far more than they should. Slow leaks are often missed because the tyre may still look serviceable during a quick walk-around. A nail, screw, damaged valve, leaking rim, old repair or cracked wheel can allow air to escape gradually. By the time the tyre looks visibly flat, it may already have internal damage.

A practical routine includes cold pressure checks, regular tread-depth inspections, prompt puncture repairs, wheel balancing where required and rotation based on tyre condition rather than guesswork. Alignment and suspension checks should be arranged when uneven wear appears, not after several tyres have been ruined.
